We support THE POLECATS at Esquires, Bedford
Well that was fun! On Bank Holiday Sunday we supported The Polecats at Esquires in Bedford. We got a kick out of seeing our name up on the marquee along with The Polecats.
It was great to see Tim, John and Phil again. Last time we supported them was in London a few years ago. Their guitarist Boz couldn’t make it this time because he was at a Morrisey Convention apparently (he’s been Morrissey’s guitarist for years). Any covered guitar, who we last saw when we played a psychobilly event at The Fiddlers Elbow Camden a couple of years ago.
It goes without saying we had to drop Jeepster from our set as The Polecats had a hit with it back in the 80s. But we played our own material plus some Stray Cats covers.
We received great feedback both at the event, which was packed, and later online.
I’m sure we will be back there soon and seeing Tim and co again in the future. Lovely bunch of guys.
It was also great to see Gavin, lead singer of Guns 2 Roses who was also playing at the venue that night. We caught up as we hadn’t seen each other since we booked his band onto The Brit Boat before covid.
